Doing the work, feeling better about it
I can get into spaces of times (seasons? phases? the proper phrase is probably “ruts”) where I spend a lot of time planning to write, without actually writing. I put it off because the writing is hard, and I know I’ll fail, and I don’t feel strong enough to handle that. But the secret is, once I write, and even fail at writing, I feel stronger. I feel better as a writer. Because even failing at writing feels stronger than not writing at all.
