Feel better soon! And I had to come here to tell you that this NYT Cooking recipe that also uses tomatoes and basil is just as stunning and easy as the gnocchi one!
Wow Julie, first I hope you're feeling better (I assume you are because you got your newsletter out). Second I could never be so productive with COVID. I get the spins and I can barely get out of bed. I usually lie in bed semi-comatose and listen to True Crime podcasts. If the door isn't firmly shut the cats get in. They're very determined. As always I love your extraordinary ability for self-reflection and observation. I think this is a gift many writers have.
Oh my gosh, I LOVE sew liberated!! I haven't made one of their patterns yet, but I love their style. Congrats on making such lovely shorts 🎉 They look great!!
"REST and recover"! says Nurse Nancy. You'll thank me next week. When you can, try taking a warm Epsom salts soak. It will take away much of the muscle aches and make you feel relaxed.
How are you always in my head? 😂 I just recovered from COVID last week after catching it at ALA. It took two weeks to recover. I was so bored. It is hard to confront how bad I am at resting and I feel guilt about being “lazy” too. I hope your time with COVID gives you a huge rest epiphany that makes it easy for you to rest here on out and then you can share it with me 😉 Anyway, I hope you feel better soon!
Two weeks! Ok, that's good to know. I think I have accepted that it's better to rest than it is to try to do something, and then take longer to recover.
The two weeks was due to a lingering cough so if you can avoid that, I bet the recovery will be faster ❤️ Sending healing and restful deep freeze vibes your way!

Fell better. I love the photo of you and your doggy sleeping. So sweet!!! 🥹
If you forgo, sit still, new life shall arise, one that is within you but you don't know yet.
