Hello friends,

Substack has this new referral program. I will admit to you I am at a good solid 62% of understanding what it is, but what I THINK it means (and they provided a template for how this works, which is below) is that if you get people to subscribe to Do the Work, I can give you stuff? Ok! Plus now we have something called a LEADERBOARD like we’re all working out on connected exercise bikes or something. Oh gosh what if there was a leaderboard for the writing we’re getting done? No wait, that sounds super stressful. Never mind.

The presents you get are some free months of paid subscribership, and also if you refer 10 people I’ll send you a bookmark and a note in the mail, and if you refer 25 people, I’ll do a zoom call with you. This all may change as we figure it out!

This is SO SO OPTIONAL. Like I said, I’m not even entirely sure how this all works! What is “referring” even? I think it’s if you get someone else to subscribe to my Substack. That’s all I know.
