Hey, thank you, Jullie!

I appreciate the Maria Bamford recommendation, too—I love her. Saw her on stage some years back.

Gumluck is giving me so much joy. I've read it three times already, and I'm sure I'm heading in for another go - my 4-year-old loves it, too!

I always appreciate your thoughts on the writing process and especially how failing is part of the process. I am forever so excited about early drafts that I share them too soon! Thanks, Julie!

Thanks Julie. I needed this post. I was about to send a too-early draft (that's been driving me crazy) off to an agent because I just want to finish it! This post gave me pause. Now I'm going to let it sit for a week! It's a picture book idea I developed from the short story project.

Congrats on your new publication. The cover is adorable. I love the messy cow bun!

Ah, the curb discards. We recently picked up a plastic toy kitchen for the grandkids. Interestingly, it was the second toy kitchen we have rescued from the curb. The other one was when our own kids were little.

I love the cover for the new book. Looking forward to reading it!

And thanks for the mention!

I’m so glad the sheep farmer story resonated with you!

The Chair With Hurt Feelings IS a book! Have you seen Dasha Tolstikova's The Bad Chair? So good.

Okay, where to start. You covered so many things I adore: curb finds (albeit through a different lens), Maria Bamford, your newest PB (which I preordered), Carter's new pop-up print shop (which I had bought one of this morning, right before reading your email), Hobbiton (which was a delight to visit--we still have our pointy-fake-ears), and Little Free Art Galleries (I had no idea we could swap out the art--I think the ones in our neighborhood are "look only" but now I'll have to check). Not to mention PB drafting; I have a folder I call "grab bag" for the "currently 'what even?'" ones and those are surprisingly fun to re-read, if only to make myself laugh at myself. The worst ones are the best ones, in that regard! ❤️👏👏👏

I always look at curb treasure, but now I’m looking for something specific: end tables I can redo. I love the upcycling culture that takes the broken to restore and repurpose. I love how that extends to stories sometimes.
