Agree! It's most helpful to spend that time getting to know yourself, from a writing standpoint. And even then, if you are like me, you will definitely still sometimes surprise yourself!
I've really been liking the Dreams and Inward Journeys textbook stuff because it is exactly all about getting to know yourself to become a better writer. But yes -- let's know ourselves, and not worry about knowing about every tv show or what's burning up the internet today.
LOL of your list of things you've never watched or read. Me too! Add South Park to that list also.
I sorta know lots of things but I don't remember much other than impressions. So when I encounter things I used to know I sorta remember them but also sorta don't. So it seems like I'm always learning. :-)
Ohhhh, yeah, for sure, on the sorta knowing. I'm always really impressed when someone knows a ton about one specific thing, or knows deeply about something that I've never even heard of.
I love how you put it -- "the desire to explore my unknowing." Curiosity is EVERYTHING. I want to keep following my curiosity and not try to know everything -- because how could I? I'm happy to go down the rabbit holes that my curiosity brings me to. The world is such an interesting place.

You're absolutely right and yet, every time I see it, I have FOMO of IYKYK! I want to know all the things.
Ha, that's what the internet wants you to think! That you're missing out. But you're not!
